Irish CV format

A CV for Ireland looks very like a UK CV: two A4 pages, reverse-chronological, with no photo or date of birth. The main differences are practical: work permits, referees and local terminology.

The essentials

  • Two A4 pages
  • British-style spelling
  • Town or county rather than full address
  • Work permit or Stamp status, if relevant
  • Referees: have two ready to give when asked. Irish employers say 'referees' rather than 'references', but as in the UK you don't need a 'Referees available on request' line

FAQs

Is an Irish CV different from a UK CV?

Only slightly. The format is the same; mention your right to work in Ireland if you're not an Irish or EU/EEA citizen.
