Questions
- How much notice do I have to give in the UK?
- Whatever your contract says. If it says nothing and you've worked there for a month or more, the legal minimum is one week. See gov.uk/handing-in-your-notice/giving-notice for the details.
- Do I have to give a reason?
- No. A short thank-you and an offer to help with the handover is enough.
- Can I email my resignation?
- Usually, yes, unless your contract says it must be in writing on paper. Keep a copy.
